Our guitar and bass guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, folk, jazz, country and classical guitar lessons on acoustic, classical, and electric guitars. Students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that at each lesson your student will be challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
We are often asked what do you learn in your music lessons? The answer is that our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.
We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child. The main reason to choose the Academy as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.
If you enroll here for music lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences.
Our instructors are all extremely qualified and some have received Master of Arts or Doctorates in music from prestigious institutions such as Berkeley and the University of Colorado just to name a few. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and have over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level. Also, since we have multiple teachers for every instrument, we could look for lesson times close to each other, or possibly at the same time for your convenience.
The Miller Music Academy does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month to month basis.
If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose as we only want students who truly want to be here and we will not commit you to a long term contract.
We offer lessons six days a week, from as early as 9am to as late as 7:30pm.
We have a rolling admission, so you can start at any time.
Lesson spots are given out at a first come first serve basis so be sure to call 303-772-8500 or contact us to check available times to start learning guitar today!

Miller Music Encourages Local Teen Bands to Enter National Competition
Miller Music Encourages Local Teen Bands to Enter the Second Annual SchoolJam USA Teen Band Competion
Competition Now Accepting Applications Online,
Teen Bands to Showcase Their Talent, Support Local School Music Programs, Inspire Peers to Make Music and Live Their Rock Star Dreams
Longmont, CO- September 9, 2010— Miller Music, a Member of NAMM, the trade association of the international music products association, announced today that applications are now being accepted by the association for its second annual SchoolJam USA competition in search of the “Best Teen Band in America.”
Just in time for back-to-school, teen bands have the chance to showcase their talent beyond their garage jam sessions by entering the second annual national SchoolJam USA competition. Beginning today, middle and high school teens, who aspire to be discovered by music industry professionals, have a passion for music, and want to help promote the significance of their schools’ music programs, can enter the SchoolJam USA competition at www.schooljamusa.com.
This battle of rising stars is produced by NAMM, the not-for-profit association of the international music products industry, and its promotional sponsors MENC: the National Association for Music Education, SchoolJam Germany, Music For All, Drum Corps International, the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, Vans Warped Tour and Channel One News. The competition highlights quality musical teen talent, gathers students to support music and the arts, and promotes active participation in school music programs.
Teen musicians between the ages of 13 and 19, with the majority of band members currently registered in a middle or high school in the United States, and are in an unsigned band, are eligible to participate and apply from Aug. 2, 2010, to Oct. 15, 2010. Bands can perform any genre of music but the song must be original content or designated as “public domain.” To view full competition rules and regulations, and for information about how to apply, visit www.schooljamusa.com.
Semi-finalists will be chosen and names will be posted on the SchoolJam USA website on Nov. 1, 2010, and online voting will be open to the public that day until Nov. 30, 2010. On Jan. 15, 2011, the top 10 finalists will take the big stage in Anaheim, Calif. during the world-famous NAMM Show in front of a panel of professional judges and hundreds of fans for the chance to take the title of Best Teen Band in the USA. The winning band will walk away with the grand prize trip of a lifetime to perform at the original SchoolJam festival in Frankfurt Germany, as well as receive a private music video recording session on the John Lennon Educational Bus, $1,000 towards the purchase of new gear and $5,000 for their school music program.
As budget cuts are continuing to affect music education programs in schools across the country, activities such as SchoolJam USA are vital to promote the importance of music making, and to provide an outlet for young adults to showcase their musical interest and talent. Reinforcing the competition’s mission to encourage active music making among teenagers, all finalists will receive a credit toward the purchase of musical merchandise from a local NAMM Member music product retailer of their choice. Also, each of the top 10 finalists’ schools will receive funding to support their school music programs.
“This is a wonderful chance for our local teen musicians to gain recognition for their talents,” said Seth Miller, President of Miller Music. “Miller Music supports this national competition, especially at a time when school music education programs are being cut across the country. Studies have proven that children and teens experience many academic and social benefits by playing music. This is a great opportunity for local kids and schools on so many levels.”
In 2009, more than 200 aspiring bands from across the country submitted applications for entry in the SchoolJam USA competition. With the help of more than 115,000 online votes, Austin, Texas-based band, “After Math” was crowned the first-ever SchoolJam USA champion, and was awarded the opportunity to perform at the SchoolJam Germany Finals in Frankfurt.
SchoolJam is an established music initiative, originally developed by MM MusikMedia Germany to promote popular and rock music in schools throughout Germany. The program has provided thousands of music-loving young adults with the opportunity to perform and network with their peers, increasing their love for playing music and encouraging them to become active musicians.
In the United States, NAMM has collaborated with MENC, Music For All and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus to develop SchoolJam USA, following two successful years of SchoolJam Texas, produced by NAMM and the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) in 2007 and 2008, in conjunction with the original SchoolJam in Germany.
